Center for Living Arts Newsletter!
What a summer it has been! Immediately after our production of Annie,
we began dismantling our office space and building a new, larger stage for our summer productions of High School Musical
2, PiPPiN and High School Musical 2 (again and again...2 casts).
We were very pleased with the summer program and received rave reviews
from our audiences! Congratulations to all of the performers! We are truly grateful for your involvement! It is
absolutely amazing to see what these youth can do!! Such talent!
Due to increased numbers, our fall programming has been expanded
to include 2 NEW musical theatre classes on Saturdays where students will perform songs and dances from musicals such
as WICKED, HAIRSPRAY, GREASE AND MANY MORE!
We are also trying a new approach and offering an OPEN MIC night
several times throughout the year. This is a wonderful opportunity to develop an 'act' and perform it in front of an
audience. Perfect for soloists, piano players and actors who want a chance to perform onstage. Auditions are required.
Ages 4-18 accepted.
We are continuing our Showchoir performance class, but changing the name to GLEE CLUB! It meets
Wednesday early evenings.
Our CHRISTMAS WIZARD OF
OZ performance
classes are almost full with just a few spaces left. We're working with a new script company that specializes in LARGE
CASTS letting everyone have a substantial part in the show. It really is a GREAT script! 6 different girls can
play the part of Dorothy! It has audience interaction and fun versions of Christmas carols. We're very excited to start
rehearsals! We're also letting 7th graders in ACT II for this show!
We're adding several new performance events this
year: ***In October, we are producing HIGH SCHOOL NON-MUSICAL. A parody of the hit Disney shows that we've been performing for 3 years!
A very funny play!
***In January, we are performing THE
25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE! with students and adults.
Audition information will be coming out soon...no fee, no class, simply a show!!.
***In mid December, we will be holding auditions for a few touring
groups to perform at local events and clubs around the QC area. No class, no fee, just rehearsing and performing all
around the area!!
***Beginning in January, the ACT I and ACT II classes will be working on ALICE IN WONDERLAND!
***We are very close to announcing our SUMMER SEASON!
We are waiting on the availability of one show...we're VERY excited for this summer! We'll be doing 2 High School (grades
8-12) shows in June and 2 4th-7th grade shows in July!!!
********AND....Eli will turn 1 year old in September! My, how
the time does fly!!
We hope to see you throughout this upcoming year!
Blessings,
Dino and Tina
