Senior citizens across the globe are discovering that it's never too late to get onstage and
try something new! In fact, they are realizing that taking the stage can open up new horizons in their lives! Whether
or not they've had any theatre experience, people from all walks of life are realizing hidden talents, strengthening their
memory, exercising their body, having fun, building community and creating incredibly meaningful moments while working
with the art of theatre! CASI, with the assistance of Dino Hayz from the Center for Living Arts in Rock Island,
will be offering an acting course entitled,
ACT Your AGE!
GAMES AND EXERCISES TO BOOST CREATIVITY, STRENGTHEN MENTAL CLARITY AND ENHANCE VITALITY!!
Who said that only
kids need playtime? If you find yourself to be a bit too serious or a recovering 'serio-holic' then this is the opportunity
you've been waiting for!!
Too good to be true!? Come and try it out! Through the use of non-competitive games and
simple mental exercises and gentle movement, you can 'tune in' to your creative self through storytelling, pretending and
fun! This class is a fantastic opportunity to build community with other like minded and young thinking seniors who realize
the GIFT that it is to be in their 'golden years!' The class will introduce students to:
the art of being in the moment
tapping the creative mind for problem solving and for fun
telling stories
building a community
creative
exercises that enhance every aspect of LIFE!
The games used in the class come from the exhaustive library of actors and
storytellers throughout several generations! Introduce yourself to the wonderful world of creativity and storytelling!
